My Favorite Game

This week, I find myself reminiscing about the old days of Sooner Football... well, the days of 2008 anyway.  Two years ago this week, Norman was preparing for, perhaps, the biggest game in the history of Memorial Stadium.  My studies (obviously) fell to the wayside as College Football Live and the Sports Animal consumed me.  I couldn't remember being that excited for a game, and I certainly haven't been that excited since.

In early October, OU lost the big game in Dallas to the Shorthorns.  Things had to happen just right for us to appear in the Big XII Championship game, and we had pretty much written off a shot at the National Championship.  Until...

OU was beating Nebraska by about 100 on this night in Norman, so we all headed to NY Pizza to cheer on the Red Raiders.  These pics are evidence of the big victory for Leach and company.

A few weeks later was the big game in Norman!  Early that week, Coach Stoops made a comment in his Tuesday press conference about our fans being complacent.  It was fuel to the fire.  We could not wait for kickoff!

We still had student tickets, so we arrived early.  It was coooold, and we had to fight for seats, but it was so worth it!  There was nowhere else to watch this game.

It was a blowout, but not one person left early.

OU v Texas Tech in 2008 was my favorite game, and it was probably the last time I'll ever sit in the student section.  While the excitement this weekend won't compare to the excitement two years ago, I hope the scores are similar!  BEAT TECH.
