It's the little things in life

How cute is my new kitchen timer?!  The only timer I have is the one on the microwave, so I've been eying this guy for months.  Every time I go into The Snow Goose at Utica Square for a birthday card (they have the BEST selection, if you didn't know), I check out this little guy.  Finally yesterday, I decided to bite the bullet and spend the $5... ?  WTH took me so long?

Nick said it doesn't "go with anything in the kitchen".  So I said, "Well, then let's grill up some burgers so it matches!"

Happy birthday, Opa!

Today, my Opa is 80 years young!  While this is a huge milestone for most people, his activities haven't changed much since he was about 60.  Still works like a dog (today, he is in OKC working at the medical board...while being on call for two nursing homes in Sapulpa), plays like a 25 year old, and takes care of his family.  Even though he can't hear very well and he feeds Gracie from the table, I'm sure glad I have his genes!  Happy birthday, Opa!  You are seriously the best grampa around.

Lake Season Begins

Last Saturday after lots of chores, Nick and I decided that we'd go out to the lake for the afternoon.  It was sunny and about 75, and we both desperately needed to work on our tans.

We turned on some music, and I drank beer and read a gossip magazine while Nick studied.   It's not easy being a princess.  :)

Then, towards the end of the afternoon, Nick got a glimpse of some prime wakeboarding water.

I thought, There's no way he is going to get in that water.  (The temperature gauge read 63 degrees.)  Next thing I know, ropes are out and he's suiting up.

WOOOOO that's cold!

Of course, once he gets in the water, we realize there is a knot in the rope.  He was NOT pleased.

He got in two good pulls and then decided that he better get out before hypothermia set in.

Great first Saturday at the lake!  Stay tuned for our AWESOME new lake toy.  I can't wait to tell y'all about it!

Happy May!

Real Life Fairy Tale

My whole life, my Mom has talked about Princess Di's wedding.  I never really understood her infatuation until this weekend when Kate Middleton, a "commoner", became Princess Catherine Elizabeth.  I watched two different broadcasts from start to finish, AND I watched the Dateline recap.  I can't get enough!

Who wouldn't want that?!  So adorable, these two.  I want to be best friends with them!  The Prince, the dress, the carriage... Amazing.  My Mom and I don't have a lot in common, but it has pretty much been determined that we were meant to be royalty.  Can't wait for the next Royal wedding!

Summer Shopping Spree

I've refrained from going bananas for the last several months in an effort to conserve funds for the important things in life... like OU football and gas for the boat.  That was going well... until yesterday.  I totally fell off the penny-pinching wagon.  Check out my loot!

How'd I do?

And which dress from ModCloth do you like best?  Weddings coming up...

Happy Friday!
