QT Heaven

I pass 2 newly remodeled, clean, organized QuikTrips on my way to work every morning.  I stop at 21st and Harvard to pick up my little bit of caffeine... a 49 cent 32 ounce iced tea. But yesterday, I started my morning off differently.  I had a meeting downtown, and upon arrival, I realized that I had forgot my tea!  It was clear that I wouldn't be able to keep my head off the table all morning without it.  I hurried down to the 15th and Denver location... and that was when my morning routine changed forever.

First, I was pleasantly surprised to see the exterior face lift!  You go, QT, I thought.

Imagine my surprise when I approached the Wall 'O Slushy, as I now like to call it.  There were at least 15 flavors!  Reminds me of the QTs of yesterday...

On my right, I was greeted by the coffee shop girl offering to make me a latte.  Not my morning drink, as I've already mentioned, but I was amazed by the drink and food selection!

And then... across the store... I saw it.
A whole iced tea section!

After standing there in disbelief for at least 2 minutes trying to figure out my next move, I made a decision.
Where it's AT!

Aaaaahhhhh....  Everyone's day was a little better after I'd finished this bad boy.

If you know me, you know I've always been a huge QT supporter.  They didn't need all of these new amenities to keep me coming back... but maybe that is why I'm such a fan!  As I approached the register to pay, I told one of the clerks that every day I drove past two QTs on my way to work, but from now on, I was going to wake up 15 minutes early, drive right past those perfectly satisfying QTs, and spend an extra 5 in traffic... just so I could have that iced tea.  This morning, it was like Christmas when I realized why I had set my alarm for 15 minutes earlier!  It's the little things in life...

My Outlet

Last week I went to Austin, Tejas for work.  After three full work, puke orange days and about two seconds before I put myself out of my misery, I remember that San Marcos... aka outlet shopping heaven... was dangerously close to Austin!  Suddenly, that town wasn't so bad.  Check out my loot!

Coach had the best deals by far!

Really tall Betsy Johnsons!  Just the way I like 'em.

Joes!  They will be shortened and warn very soon.

I HAD to buy these Tory Burch flippies!  My feet were getting tired from walking around in my work heels.  This marked the first day since I was about 6 years old that I wore a pair of new shoes out of the store.

Gameday glasses!

Ugg boots!  I felt weird buying these in Texas in July, but they were adorable...  and priced to sell!

All this in 3.5 hours.  I'd say the trip was quite a success!  San Marcos, until next time...

Weekends

Whew!  It has been a busy week!  So busy that I haven't been able to post about all the lake fun that was had last weekend.

For those of you who can't read the thermostat, it says "Air  115, Lake   95".  This translates to freakin hot.

Nick wakeboarded on a Saturday!  It's rare that we have water good enough for that.

I went surfing.

And then it was Rick's turn!

We tried to beat the heat, but instead, we broke Tex's glasses.

Christine wanted to make sure we didn't leave her floating around in the cove!

And Nick wanted to get some sun on his thighs. Yikes.

All in all, it was a successful, sweltering day on the water!

No lake for me this weekend, but I am in Dallas ready to have a great weekend including happy hour, pizza, a Ranger's game, and good friends!  Happy Friday, all.

Stuff I NEED

So, I know I have a pretty good life, but here are a few things I just CAN'T live without!

I've been eying this Michael Kors watch for what feels like years!  Why don't I just go get it already??

A closet this big.  I live in a house built in the 1930's.  Every day is a struggle.

These to go in the closet.  I'm not one for flats, but the sparkly makes up for the lack of heel in this instance.

This adorable patio set from Pottery Barn.  It's missing a big table, but it looks extra comfy... so I don't mind.

And another one of these in Norman.  Duh.

Is that so much to ask?
